Happy Hour Scene: The Petrol Station – Houston Restaurants and Dining – Eating Our Words

The folks at the Houston Press give a thumbs’ up to one of our favorite hang-outs:

The bar’s location, not far from Ella and 34th Street, is probably out of the way for anyone who doesn’t live in the neighborhood, which is a shame, because while we were drinking our beer, we were thinking that every neighborhood should have a Petrol Station.

Of course, if this place opened in Midtown, Montrose or Rice, it would probably be ruined, not a quiet seat in the bar.

A quick U-turn to the Petrol Station this week for anybody who’s in town and available for libations.  Get your motors running and head out on the highway to 985 Wakefield at 8 PM.  See you there!

Monday, 19 July 2010: Nothing Special at The Petrol Station

For the first time in months, our trip to The Petrol Station, the best pub in Houston without a real website, doesn’t coincide with a special event.  That doesn’t mean that the beer selection will be anything less than interesting!  Come out to 985 Wakefield in pastoral Garden Oaks at 8 PM.  The upside of not having an event is that you might actually find parking to be less of a hassle.
