There’s not much chance of rain this week here in Texas, and we sure could use some.  And while The Petrol Station, at 985 Wakefield in scrappy, ready-to-rumble Garden Oaks, doesn’t have some great rain-making apparatus,  their tap selection rotates regularly, so at least there should be a breeze at the bar.  So come by at 8 PM to whet your whistle and enjoy the patio in one of the few upsides to our dry spell.

Coming Soon: Texas Beer Festival

The Texas Beer Festival is happening in Humble, TX on May 7th.  There are a number of related events (a pub crawl and a number of beer dinners) happening during the week before and the week after the fest itself. Looks like it will be an interesting time to be in Humble and and the greater Houston-Humble-Tomball-Cut-n-Shoot-Clute Metroplex.

Although the city finally received a much needed rain shower and thankfully decreased pollen counts (for the moment), we don’t want to tempt the rain clouds and be caught outside on what should be a lovely evening.  So join us for a beer, cocktail, or tiki drink under the palapas at Under the Volcano (2349 Bissonnet at Morningside).  See you there at 8 PM.  Save some dollar bills for one of the best jukeboxes in the city!

Monday, 4 April 2011: Drink like a champion at Hans’ Bier Haus

Apparently, there’s some basketball game going on in town.  Neither of the teams are from around these parts, I hear, but for some reason people are pretty excited about it.  Whatever.  We’ll be enjoying the windy weather and a pint or so of beer at Hans’ Bier Haus (2523 Quenby St. at Kirby Dr.), at 8 PM. They do have a couple of TVs so if you need to keep up with the game, you’ve got that going for you, which is nice. Park on the street as the IBC parking lot is off limits.
